The FKF Women National Super League (WNSL) started this weekend 12th October 2024, marking the beginning of another exciting season in Kenya's women's football. The league is divided into two zones, A and B.
As the second-tier league in Kenyan women's football, the Super League plays a vital role in developing young talent and providing teams with a pathway to the top-tier Premier League. This season, fans can anticipate intense competition as teams strive for promotion.
Kayole Starlets are favorites to top the league, after losing the promotion slot to Mombasa Olympic, this season they will be out to give their best to secure a direct promotion.
Teams in the FKF WNSL are zoned based on the regional location. The two-zone format helps keep travel manageable for the teams, allowing them to focus on developing their players and strategies.
The zoning also ensures a more equitable competition, giving emerging talents from different regions of the country a chance to showcase their skills.
At the end of the season, winners of each zone will earn themselves a direct promotion to the FKF WPL ,however they will have a playoff final to decide the WNSL season champions. Secondly, the runners up in both zones will battle it out in a play off match to decide who will secure the 3rd promotion slot.
