Author: Kuria KaranjaMon Mar 03 2025

The battle for survival reaches its climax next weekend, and no one wants to be the team left holding a big  L named relegation when the final whistle blows.

Impala RFC (15 points) – Clinging to the Edge

Impala took a bruising 69-9 beating from KCB, but their survival hopes are still alive. Their fate now rests on a final-day showdown against Nakuru RFC. Win, and they breathe easy. Lose, and they risk getting sucked into the abyss.

Nakuru RFC (14 points) – The Late Risers

Three wins on the bounce have given Nakuru a new lease of life. The “Wanyore” have clawed their way to eighth, but there’s no time for celebration. A loss to Impala, and they could find themselves right back in the danger zone.

Strathmore Leos (13 points) – One Shot Left

The Leos’ narrow loss to Blak Blad gave them a crucial point, but points won’t be enough next weekend. They need a statement win against Kenya Harlequin to dodge disaster. A loss could see them slip through the trapdoor.

Kisumu RFC (13 points) – On the Last Bus back to the Lakeside City

They fought tooth and nail in a 36-22 loss to Quins, scraping a bonus point that might be their lifeline. Now, they head into battle against Nondies in a do-or-die fixture. We all know what will happen.

Mwamba RFC (12 points) – The Maths is not Mathing

Despite earning two points in Nakuru, they remain in the drop zone and must beat Blak Blad in their final game to stand a chance of survival.

South Coast Pirates (9 points) – A loss, and they walk the plank.

A losing bonus point at Nondies marked a historic first, but history won’t save them now. With a daunting trip to Menengai Oilers’ Refinery, the Pirates need a miracle.

Six teams, one fate—only two will fall. And next weekend, someone’s going down.
